ALL MY LIFE To Be Featured on "Serve When Chilled" Compilation Album By GenMe-X
Independent record label/sound production company Generation Me-X Entertainment (LLC) (GenMe-X) has selected "All My Life (Nu-Jazz, Briarus Remix)" as one of the tracks on their soon to be released new compilation album currently in production. The compilation titled, "Serve When Chilled," will feature lounge, deep house, lo-fi, nu-jazz, ambient, and bossa music written by independent artists.
"All My Life" is a song written by yours truly (Valerie Michele Oliver) that was produced and re-mixed by music artist Briarus on the ccMixter service. I posted the original song on ccMixter after learning about the service through Creative Commons, the nonprofit organization that licenses the work of artists so that people can collaborate on, re-use and share creations. Briarus remixed the song in ambient and nu-jazz genres.
The collaboration approach is perfect for the Reach 4 Freedom: Heal Child Abuse Music Project because it's all about energy gained from every activity connected to my music serving as conduits or channels to heal abuse on our planet. Intent and action is everything. READ MORE!

Val is Attending the Publish or Not To Self-Publish Webinar Today
What follows is some of the description about the webinar.
You can click this LINK to read more about it and REGISTER.
"These are the important manuscript questions for most of us right now.
Writing can come easy with those individuals who are passionately connected to words. The confusion comes in when it’s actually time to do something with the manuscript, or book, or ebook…or whatever format you’re involved with.
Join us in this webinar as we discuss the latest happenings within the publishing industry and what an impact eBooks and eReaders are making on all writers. Suddenly, there are many ways to present your books to the public without going through the expense and drama of traditional publishing.
But wait! Perhaps traditional publishing does still have some advantages! More to be revealed.
This webinar is not only for writers and authors. We always have time to discuss many “writing” topics that surface while on the call. If you have any questions about directions, what to write about, challenges with topics – we are here for you.
Some friends gave me a new name recently, Compassionate Publishing, because I care about your journey and want to help you make the best decisions for yourself, regardless of your affiliations with any one or any thing else. Your best interests are always in my heart.
In this webinar, I will share information about these questions:
> Should I be planning alternative publishing methods? (i.e. how soon is too early?)
> Why publish traditionally?
> What ARE the alternatives to share my writing with the public?
> If I publish alternatively, how will I get through the maze of options?
> What if I haven’t even started, or am halfway through, a book or story?
> Is there interest in creating a writer’s support group which can meet on the
telephone monthly?"

Creator's Parrot Radio Channel Close To 13,000 Visitors First Season
On January 17, 2010, the first episode of "Sunday Brunch: the First and Last Song" aired on Creator's Parrot channel on Blog Talk Radio. On June 27, 2010, the program had its season finale featuring Mexican-Chinese pianist Joel Juan Qui (classical/contemporary classical/soundtrack), Canadian pianist, trumpeter, composer Rudy Van Horne (Classical/Classical Contemporary/Easy Listening/New Standards), and guest co-host Barry Plaxen (Publisher, Delaware & Hudson Canvas newspaper in New York).
Plans are to review the format and receive guidance about what's next while the series is on hiatus for the summer, and to explore advertiser, marketing and producer support to expand publicity for the program if it is to grow forward in the fall season.
Creator's Parrot radio channel was created as a conduit to generate energy for solutions to child abuse on the earth in a healing and the arts form. This is the intention. All activity connected with Creator's Parrot is dedicated to this purpose.
Although I had no advertising or marketing budget or staff, in six months since the program debut the site has had close to 13,000 visitors and programs were played and listened to close to 3,000 times (live and podcast) versions. I like to think of it as 16,000 blasts of energy for solutions to child abuse! If you add in all the program minutes (1100+) and friends (114) that brings it to over 17,000 energy intent charges. That's not including all the hours I put in producing and other activities.
You can keep up on the news concerning child abuse and neglect answers and solutions from the news reel I've set up on the Reach 4 Freedom: Heal Child Abuse Music Project site. It's another sacred space set up to affect change. You can learn more about it by visiting the site.
News Reel Item: Supreme Court Rejects Vatican Appeal In Sex Abuse Case
There is a player on the left-hand side of this blog for you to add energy by listening to the show, or you can read show descriptions and play, download, and share the programs from Creator's Parrot radio site.
Creator's Parrot radio channel could use a professional with HEART who believes in and supports the intent to acquire advertisers and angel financial support. If you would like to invest your time and energy to make this project a success using your contacts and expertise, please Email Me.
My deep gratitude to all of you who contributed to a successful first season, who were guests, guest co-hosts, financial contributors, social media marketing/share contributors, visitors, listeners, prayers, whatever you did to help. Lots of love and light to you!

THE LAST SONG PLAYLIST (VOLUME ONE)
"I listen to everything--and not just to the music itself, but to the hearts behind it."
-- from "The Shack" by William P. Young
What is the last song you want to hear before your life ends on earth?
These particular songs come from answers provided by guests on the show, their managers or publicists, and by the fans and friends of our guests. They represent females and males, a variety of different ages, ethnic identities, political affiliations, sexual orientations, geographic locations, and music genres. Think you can match which guests, hosts, or co-hosts may have chosen these songs? Is the song I chose on this playlist? You'll have to listen to the debut show podcast to find out.
The Last Song is about connecting and re-committing to your dreams, and embracing the courage to heal and change if it's time.
The purpose for this question is to remind everybody to appreciate and honor our lives: the good, the bad, and the ugly. It's our story, special and unique. So let's live like today (and everyday) is our last day inspired by your last songs!
Share your answers to this last question created for "The First and Last Song."
If you call-in and provide your answers on a live show, you’ll get to share why you chose it, and you can listen to the entire show anytime as an on-demand podcast. If we run out of airtime before we can get your answer, just EMAIL IT.
I hope you enjoy listening to "The Last Song" Volume One playlist.

Zain Effendi Recorded Haitian Church and Children Choirs, and Tribal Music in 2006
Zain Efendi, a talented composer who was awarded Best New Composer by Hollywood Music in Media in 2009, is a guest on "Sunday Brunch: The First and Last Song." He will debut some of the music recorded with Haitian church choirs, children's choirs and tribal voices for a special music project for a documentary film to which he was assigned in 2006. The project remained dormant until the devastating earthquake this year that most likely ended the loves of some of the people Zain recorded. This is truly one man's heartfelt connection to the Haitian people that has touched the hearts of the organizations and people who are now bringing this project to fruition to embrace even more hearts.
Mr. Effendi is sharing some music tracks of this project for the first time in a public mass media venue on "Sunday Brunch: The First and Last Song." VISIT ZAIN EFFENDI'S WEB SITE.
